Terms of use
In short
- The game is free and provided as it is.
- It is for people aged 13 and over.
- Treat people well: no harassment, hate, sexual content or other people's personal data.
- What you create stays yours; you let us show it to your room so the game works.
- If you lose your account's recovery code, we cannot give the account back.
1. Who we are
Jester Master is a game by Kyogen Studio, the trade name of Juan David Ortega Rincón, based in Tunja, Boyacá (Colombia). Contact: contacto@jestermaster.com.
2. Acceptance
By playing you accept these terms and the privacy policy. Creating an account requires accepting them explicitly. If you do not agree, do not use the game.
3. Age
Jester Master is for people aged 13 and over. If you are between 13 and 17, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of the game.
4. The service
- The game is free. It is provided as is and as available: it may have bugs, change, pause for maintenance or cease to exist.
- Rooms are temporary and live in the server's memory: a restart can cut off a game in progress.
- If paid features or ads are added in the future, they will be announced first and have their own conditions.
5. Your account
- The account is optional and uses no email. When you create it you get a recovery code, the only way to sign in from another device. Keep it safe: if you lose it we cannot recover the account, because we have no other way to check it is yours.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account. Do not share your code.
- Usernames cannot impersonate anyone, be offensive or contain personal data. We may change or remove a name that breaks this.
- You can delete your account whenever you want from the game itself.
- Coins, cosmetics and redeem codes have no monetary value: they are not bought with money, sold, exchanged for money or moved to another account. What a time-limited code gives stops being available on the stated date. We may cancel a code, or what was obtained with it, if it was obtained by cheating or abusing the system.
6. How to behave
In rooms, names, questions, clues, custom words, drawings and the group collection must not include:
- harassment, threats, insults or discrimination on any grounds;
- explicit sexual or violent content, or anything inappropriate for people aged 13 and over;
- your own or other people's personal data (phone numbers, addresses, photos of someone without their permission);
- advertising, spam or misleading links;
- content that infringes other people's rights.
It is also not allowed to attack or overload the server, use automated programs to play, look for security flaws to exploit them (if you find one, tell us) or pretend to be the game's team.
Any player can mute or report another, and whoever creates the room can kick. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, without prior notice when the case requires it.
7. What you create
What you write or draw in the game stays yours. By doing so you give us a free, limited permission to store it and show it to the people in your room or group for as long as the game needs it to work. You are responsible for having the right to share it. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
8. Intellectual property
- The game, its code, design, texts, Arlek and the Jester Master brand belong to its author. They may not be copied, sold or redistributed without permission.
- The photos of the words come from Wikimedia Commons and belong to their authors, under free licences; each one carries its credit and the full list is under "Photo credits".
- The characters, works and brands that appear as words in the game belong to their owners and are mentioned only so they can be guessed. Jester Master is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for the loss of games, progress or data caused by bugs, restarts or the end of the service, nor for what other players write or draw. None of this limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer that cannot be waived, such as those of Colombia's Consumer Statute (Law 1480 of 2011) or of your country of residence.
10. Ending use
You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change them, the new version is published here with its date and, if the change is significant, announced in the game. Continuing to play afterwards means you accept the new version.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Tunja, Boyacá, without prejudice to the mandatory rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence, including the right to go to its courts. Before any claim, write to us: almost everything can be solved by talking.
